Isaiah 40:29-31
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. “Lord, Take away my difficulties that victory over them would bear witness to those I could save of thy power, thy love, and thy way of life…” Michael Towers can best tell his story in two parts; before Christ and after! Having grown up with little Christian experiences, there always seemed to be something pulling at him. Living on self will alone Michael struggled with alcoholism and drug addiction, mental disorder, legal issues, relationship issues, and dropped out of college. One night after Michael set-up a drug deal that went terribly wrong and was shot at from point blank range, he fell to his knees and said enough was enough and turned his life over to Jesus. A college dropout, living in a room in a friend’s parents house and unable to get anything going, he turned his will over and the results were miraculous. Years later Michael is married to the girl of his dreams and has an amazing marriage. He is an active member of his church. Michael went back to college and received two degrees. All Michael is passionate about is using his experience, strength, and hope to help others in the name of Jesus Christ. Before Michael surrendered, he truly believed his situation was hopeless, and that he would end up institutionalized or imprisoned. Today Michael believes that there is no ceiling as to how amazing life will be, and that even though there are day to day struggles, anything is possible through our creator! Michael has degrees in substance abuse counseling and psychology. Through his failures and eventual triumphs in college he excels at motivating and inspiring college aged youth to achieve their dreams. Being an avid fitness buff, Michael lost 75 pounds in 2013. He is pursuing his certification in personal training, in the hopes to show how God relieved him of his health issues, so that he could honor his body as a temple. Speaking Topics:
